Hot Off The Tree

I'm not a cold weather person but October rocks because it's National Apple Month!
Yep, all month long you can feast on fresh-off-the-farm apples, any way you want. Apples for breakfast make you slapsillyhappy all day long, especially when they're warm and cinnamony and superyummalicious!  :)

Do you like apples for breakfast? Do you eat applesauce warm or cold? If you had to choose, would it be apple muffins or apple doughnuts?

Going Soft

I've got a soft spot in my heart for cream cheese, a true comfort food, especially on a thick slab of freshly made richly flavored date nut bread. Spinningly delicious!
So I'm over-the-moon-happy that Daiya now makes cream cheese...yippee! Their new vegan cream cheese style spreads hit the shelves in late Spring in three yumful versions...Plain, Chive & Onion and Strawberry. So excited to try them and guess what...they're on sale at Sendik's Food Market!
Go ahead and make a no-bake cheesecake, or get creative with your cream cheese!  :)

Roly Poly Pears

Technically they're identified as Pyrus pyrifolia but they are better known by all sorts of exotic appellations...
Asian pear, Chinese pear, Korean pear, Japanese pear, Taiwan pear, sand pear, nashi pear and curiously enough, apple pear. They aren't related to apples at all...they just look like sandy roly poly apple-y delights!  :)
