Hello Peanuts, Goodbye Gluten!

Today is National Peanut Day and National Celiac Disease Awareness Day! Celiac disease is a condition where the body reacts negatively to gluten in your food. Gluten is most commonly found in wheat, barley and rye, but it can also be found in things like soy sauce, soup, even french fries!

What's your favorite way to eat peanuts? My grandpa used to bring us those little snack bags of ridiculously salty peanuts that he got on airplane trips as a treat...I still get cravings for those bad boys.  ;)

  1. Oh my, how can I miss National Peanut Butter day?! Peanut butter is a universal food - in oatmeal for breakfast, salads for lunch as a dressing, and as a frosting for desserts! Incidentally I just made a super yummy thai-quinoa salad with peanut butter dressing. So good! (It's up on my blog). Thank you also for dropping by my blog at earlymorningoats and for that sweet comment!

  2. All of these peanutty treats look so good! Peanuts don't get the same accolades as flashier cashews, macadamia nuts, or walnuts, but they're one of those foods that's always good. I love peanut butter in a smoothie, peanut sauce, or whole peanuts in a stir-fry.

    1. I agree, they are the quietly shining stars in the nut universe. PB stuffed-apples are one of my favorite snacks, especially at this time of year. I've been munching them like mad lately! :)
