Happy Holi (and St. Patrick's Day)!

Blogger of the Day: Dassana at Veg Recipes Of India

Sure you've partied on St. Patrick's Day by dressing in green and eating green pancakes and drinking green shakes, but why stop at one color when you can dive headfirst into Holi and its wildly beautiful Festival of Colors? Holi is an annual holiday originating in India that celebrates the vibrant beginning of spring and all things peaceful and positive and gentle and joyous. A crazycool part of it is letting loose with loads of color, and even better if you're in a rockin'dancin'laughin' crowd of thousands doing it too! One of the biggest Festivals of Colors takes place at the Radha Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork, Utah, but there are plenty more in cities all over the US and the world. Take a gaze at pure happiness...  :)

Find a Festival or hold your own!
If you do, share photos please!  :)

With any happy holiday you have to have happy foods...Dassana happens to have a bounty of breathtaking recipes to welcome in spring! I love her recipes because she takes the time to explain where they came from, how to do each step (with fabulous photos for each!), other options for ingredients and it's all vegan friendly! I'm smitten by so many of her recipes but I must admit the Puran Poli and Papaya Halwa are at the top of my list...I'm off to the store for papayas!  ;)
